Would need to change how this is handled so server admins can implement a per player cap (or just disable it) on this if desired Add railcraft (or another rail mod) for some additional rails, trim to the useful ones (jump rails, vertical rails) Maybe copper rails use highspeed rail mechanics? ## Elytra In vanilla, completely nukes all other forms of transportation Completely removes need for infrastructure, lets you completely ignore the world Encourages rushing the end just to get wings Use [Aileron](https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/aileron) to nerf elyra, returning it to being moreso glider wings ## Horses With elytra nerfed, these have a use again. Not the fastest, but require minimal infrastructure. Unchanged. ## Boats Ice boating is left untouched, rails go faster now anyways # Tools ## Enchanting Replace with quark oddities enchanting Personally I would just scrap the current system and go more towards something like EIO dark enchanter or chocolate edition(?), but trying to keep it somewhere within the range of "mojang would do this" Matrix enchanting lets the player have more control over what enchants their tools are granted, and have some interplay with the otherwise useless candles ### Mending How does one rework mending without it feeling useless? Looked at various mods, nothing clicked, but I had a simple idea: Tools with mending gain more durability back per repair. (See anvil section on repair changes) ## Anvil Obligatory remove "too expensive!" Some new item or enchanted book found via exploration can reset the repair cost (the idea that unmending had for the mending book) Something I had completely forgotten about until recently was how vanilla handles repairs. One repair will grant 25% of the tools durability back. A good trade for armor, but awful for tools. Could change this to be a flat durability amount? Otherwise, keep it as is, and have tools with mending give 40% durability back per material ## Gold tools Inate silk touch on the tools, surves as a intro to enchants existing. ### Gold armor Already has the piglin niche, ## Copper tools and armor I could get away with just removing these, being fairly recently additions. I have zero ideas for this, and we already have two aesthetic armor sets ## Chainmail # Storage and item management New Bundles (backported) Quark Oddities Crate (basically a block version of the bundle, holds up to 640 unique items) Quark Oddities Backpack (decently balanced backpack for midgame, gives a reason to do raids). (Could also be placed for aesthetics?) # Mobs ## Pillagers Backpacks give additional reason to do raids 1.21 changing bad omen (and thus raid starts) to instead given by dropped bottles feels too contrived. At the same time, trial chambers add an additional wrinkle. Perhaps pillager structures (and raid captain loottables) now contain "ominous horns", making the same sound as a pillager raid horn. Blowing on one of these while in a village summons a raid. The conversion into raid omen is shifted by one compared to vanilla, so that a player with no levels of BO will summon a level 1 raid, etc. This lets players retain control of when a raid starts (as per mojang's vision), without it feeling artificial. As a sidenote, it also explains how the pillagers find your location. Also interplay with horns, which is cool I think Assuming that we keep bad omen stacking to 5, that means that we are now missing a raid tier. Implement illusioners (or mod mobs) to help fill that out. If illusioners, develop a drop for them as well Wonder if it would be funny to nerf totems in HC? ## Turtles Now drop scute on death Maybe copy armadillo brush mechanic for renewable scute instead of having it be on growth? General buff to turtle helmet, possibly an additional use for scute of some kind ## Goats Ramming blocks (from you've goat to be kidding me) can be used to break blocks Maybe more customization with horn sounds?
